What we offer

From licence to operational readiness

A certificate alone does not make a drone operation. With us you get everything that goes with it: training for the pilots, consulting for the operation and technology that fits the job.

Trainer explaining the drone to a group at the landing pad

Academy

A2 remote pilot certificate, A2 refresher and STS, plus flight training at the airfield. You sit the theory exam with us.

Drone, remote controller and mission checklist laid out on a table for planning

Consulting

For companies and authorities that want to fly regularly: operations concept, risk assessment, operations manual and the application to the authority.

Hands working on drone electronics with a soldering iron

Systems

Which drone, which sensors, dock or no dock? We plan the technology around the job and tell you what you don't need, too.

The equipment you'll fly

From the first takeoff to a safe landing

You learn on the equipment you'll operate yourself later. At the airfield, with an instructor at your side.

Our approach

Everything for safe drone operations, from one source

With us, the school and the examination body are the same house. You prepare, fly at Oldenburg-Hatten airfield and sit the theory exam with us. Your documents, learning progress and exam status are in the customer portal. And if you have a question, you reach us directly.

01 / PRIVATE

Private & Creator

You want to get closer to your subject and stay on the safe side. The A2 allows the first, Creative Training teaches the second.

02 / COMMERCIAL

Commercial Pilots

Clients ask for certificates. You get the certificate and the routine that goes with it: flight preparation, checklists and practice at the airfield.

03 / COMPANIES

Companies

Several employees are going to fly? We train the team together and help define responsibilities and procedures.

04 / BOS

Authorities & BOS

For fire services, police, ambulance services and disaster relief: operations concept, roles on scene, documentation and data protection, plus training for the personnel.

Why Blue Aviation

What you learn here, you still need after the exam

METHOD

Training the way airlines do it

We work with Competency-Based and Evidence-Based Training, the methods used to train airline pilots. For you that means practising decisions in real situations. When do you take off, when do you abort, and what do you do when the technology fails?

Frequently asked questions

What you should know before you start

Which drone licence do I need?

It depends on your drone and how you use it. The A1/A3 proof of competence is mandatory from 250 grams. To fly drones up to 4 kg closer to uninvolved people, you need the A2 remote pilot certificate. For the standard scenarios of the specific category, such as flights beyond visual line of sight, you need STS. If you are unsure, call or write to us.

Does Blue Aviation also offer practical training?

Yes. We fly at Oldenburg-Hatten airfield. Every session starts with a briefing and ends with a debriefing. In between you fly yourself, with an instructor at your side.

How do I book a course?

Under "Book courses" you add the A2 in-person course to your basket, choose your date and pay by card. You then have access to the customer portal with the course materials and everything you need to upload for exam admission. Creative training and consulting are available on request.

Do you also work with authorities and organisations (BOS)?

Yes. We advise and train fire services, police, ambulance services and disaster relief in setting up a drone unit, from the operations concept and roles on scene to documentation and data protection.
